The role includes: Providing expert pharmaceutical care to patients from admission to discharge on the wards and Virtual Hospital. Developing the role of the pharmacist in the multi-disciplinary team at ward level. Day to day working with the medicines management technicians. Providing prescribing advice and support to junior medical staff. Educating patients about their medicines. Training of medical and nursing staff. Supervision and training of junior and foundation trainee pharmacists, technicians and assistants. Participation in clinical audit, preparation of policies and procedures and involvement in risk management.
