We are looking for a psychologist to support the implementation of the psychological offer for the young people we work with. The post holder will also work alongside the team multi disciplinary team (Nurses, O.T and SALT) to support the development of our pathways and help shape the culture of the team. You will join a small group of skilled and compassionate professionals to build a wider service from the ground up, ensuring the children and their families receive best practice care for their mental health and behavioural needs. You will receive supervision from a senior psychologist and have opportunities to link with other child psychologists across the Trust. You will also be part of the county wide child psychology team, making innovative contributions to ongoing service improvement and compassionate care, and we work towards psychology being at the heart of everything that we do. There are many opportunities to access further training and we have an excellent record in developing our workforce. We have close links with Southampton University offering placements to trainee clinical psychologists and would support the successful candidate to provide these placements. As a multi-disciplinary team member of the LD/A service you will provide specialist psychological expertise to understand and support the complex mental health and behavioural needs of children and young people with learning disabilities and/or Autism. You will work as an active member of the MDT, contributing expertise within your specialist area to develop the service and also providing clinical skills for assessment and interventions. Contributing to the management of a team caseload of clients with complex needs, you will provide consultation, specialist assessments, psychological formulations and interventions. We follow a multi-disciplinary approach and as such you will provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention with specific responsibilities within your specialist profession.
