We would welcome applications from peoplewho enjoy working in a fast-paced practice and have genuine passion for patient care. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a GP practice as an HCA, but will specifically require practical experience of delivering phlebotomy services, alongside a willingness to learn other aspects of the HCA role. The core hours needed to be covered are 25 per week and working patterns (days and times) can be discussed at interview. The rate of pay is £12.00 per hour, and you also have the option of joining the NHS or NEST pension as one of many Symphone employee benefits. Please see attached links for more information. As our HCA, you will work under the direct supervision of the Lead / Practice Nurse and in strict accordance with any specific practice guidelines and protocols. You will also assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. About us Main duties and responsibilities include: New patient health checks - BMI, Urinalysis ECG recording INR monitoring using Coagucheck and INR Star To undertake Doppler testing Blood Pressure Monitoring following practice hypertension guidelines, issue HBPM in accordance with practice policy Phlebotomy including perform annual blood tests, BP, BMI, ACR as requested for patients with chronic diseases Urinalysis MSU, ACR in accordance with practice policy Wound Care suture removal in accordance with practice policy, following training Weight Management Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses Administer influenza vaccines according to PSD, following training Administer B12 injections according to PSD To undertake Spirometry for GP to interpret results. Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations, coils and implants Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Help to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Assist with recall systems Lifestyle advice, (diet, weight, exercise, smoking cessation, alcohol) making necessary referrals within PHCT and local support services Maintain health promotion information in waiting room designated for patient education "}
