The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of multiple services, with a focus on high quality care, delivery of access and activity targets, financial and budgetary management, service improvement and development, and the management of admin teams within the services. The role will be based at St. James University Hospital in Leeds and is a full-time position. The Service Manager will be work as part of the CSU senior management team to ensure that services are providing effective, timely and appropriate care, maximising the resources available, and delivering this within the financial envelope of the CSU. The post holder will form part of the service manager team within the CSU, reporting into the Deputy General Manager and General Manager, and will be supported by the Lead Clinicians, Lead Nurses/Matrons, and Business Managers within the relevant departments. For further information please contact: Jacob Burton, Deputy General Manager, Jacob.Burton@nhs.net - Responsible for the delivery of access and activity targets across services, including Cancer Wait Times, RTT, and Diagnostic Services - Accountable for the financial solvency of multiple Business Units, by managing pay and non-pay budgets, delivering on Waste Reduction schemes and supporting the delivery of service activity through the Payment by Results (PbR) mechanism. - Ensure the delivery of high quality care across services in conjunction with the Lead Clinician, Consultant body, Lead Nurse/Matron, Nursing workforce teams. - Work as part of the CSU Senior Management Team, delivering on cross-department pieces of work and providing Transformation Leadership for one of the key Trust pillars. - Line Management of the operational and administrative staff for multiple services, ensuring that HR policies and guidelines are enacted and followed and to provide the required HR support to the wider services. - Deliver on key areas of service improvement, including pathway redesign and efficiencies, development and implementation of Business Cases and Proposals, and benchmarking against other organisations. About us The Service Manager is a key member of the CSU Senior Management Team, and responsible for the delivery of access and activity targets, fiscal management, HR, and staffing matters as well as transformational development and projects within departments incorporating the Trusts Transformation Programme and 7 Commitments. The focus of the role is to enable the development, delivery and maintenance of all access targets, cancer capacity and cancelled operations target, activity plan and maximising data capture and coding efficiencies. Working in collaboration with senior operational, medical and nursing management across the CSU, as well as commissioners, operational teams and external stakeholders, the postholder will be responsible for leading on a transformational improvement programme across the CSU, and ensuring that service benefits are realised. The Service Manager will ensure that robust activity and financial systems are in place during the planning period to maintain business continuity.
