The post holder will be part of a team of Specialist Registrars and Consultants in Breast Surgery, as well as the wider multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will assist in the provision of elective breast surgery, outpatient clinics, inpatient ward cover and the preparation of the multidisciplinary team meeting. The post holder will have the opportunity to operate independently within their own competencies for specific procedures and will be supported by the consultant body to develop further competencies within the field of breast surgery, with ample opportunity to be involved with major cases in oncoplastic breast surgery and breast reconstruction. The clinical commitments will depend on service requirements but will span outpatient clinics (one stop and routine follow-up) and theatre. The successful applicant will be expected to play a key role in the on-going development of the Breast Unit and will work alongside the consultants to develop and expand the service.
