The ideal candidate will have expertise in interpreting Musculoskeletal (MSK), Chest and Abdomen X-ray. To qualify for this role, the post holder must hold an accredited reporting qualification from the Society of Radiographers and have completed an initial audit before commencing independent reporting. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for both hot and cold reporting in general radiography, as well as their own clinical work and professional development. The appointed reporting radiographer will be joining the trust during an exciting period of development. The post holder will contribute to the established radiographer reporting service, collaborating with the Head of General Radiology based in the core of our community. Our newly constructed community diagnostic centre will service as the hub for their work. Consideration will be given to applicants who have accreditation in one of the modules, MSK or Chest and Abdomen. Training will be provided for the module that is not presently held. Throughout this period, the contract will entail 0.6 whole-time equivalent (wte) Band 7 reporting and 0.4 wte senior clinical radiographer. The Reporting Radiographer will work within the established Radiographer reporting service with the Head of General Radiology to provide hot and cold reporting in general radiography and be responsible for his/her clinical work and professional development. The Reporting Radiographer will be located at a specific base site but will be required to report work from all Trust sites. The Reporting Radiographer will provide professional advice and expertise to all members of the radiography team and be recognised and accessible as an expert in their specified field. He/she will promote best practice and disseminate knowledge to the profession and the surrounding healthcare environment. The Reporting Radiographer will undertake reflective evaluation of his/her own practice and will partake in the supervision, teaching and professional advancement of radiographers, radiology assistants and student radiographers. The Reporting Radiographer will be expected to manage his/her own specialist workload effectively whilst maintaining associated records to allow for ongoing personal audit.
