We have vacancies in our therapy department for an enthusiastic therapy assistant. You will work under the supervision of qualified physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy assistant practitioners, to carry out rehabilitation plans and help facilitate discharge for patients on wards across the Colchester General Site. Our Therapy Assistant staff rotate 6 monthly across a variety of wards in Medicine, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Critical care, Stroke unit and Elderly Care. The department provides a 7 day service and you will be expected to participate in this rota. Please note, interviews for this post may take place in person, so if shortlisted you must be able to travel to Colchester Hospital for interview. You will be supported by qualified therapists, working within a competency framework and will be given all necessary training for the job. You will manage your own workload and participate in team and service development. You should ideally have experience of working in healthcare, but this is not essential. You will need to be enthusiastic,have good communication and organisation skills, be a team worker and able to use your own initiative. The successful post holder should either have completed or be willing to complete the Level 3 diploma in Healthcare. Apprenticeship funding is available for both Level 2 and 3 Healthcare Support worker courses if required.
