This is from an expansion of services provided by our department. We would encourage applications from individuals with skills to complement our existing team. The job will involve providing core elective and emergency urological care and can accommodate most subspecialist interests. The department has a keen interest in developing further complimentary sub-specialist areas and we would particularly welcome applications from individuals with an interest in female incontinence surgery. The job role involves supporting a well established and collaborative department, focused on excellent, person-centered care. Within the Trust we are part of Surgery Care Group, which includes most surgical specialties. We have a Clinical Director responsible for the all General Surgery, Urology, Vascular and Breast services across the Trust and a Lead Clinician for Urology. The Trust provides acute hospital services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale - an area covering 3,400 square miles. We manage ten hospital sites, 1,127 beds (including day cases) and have a workforce of over 8,000 staff working across our hospitals and in the community. Our main sites are in York and Scarborough.
