To utilise a variety of strategies to communicate effectively with the neonate's family / carers, the multidisciplinary team, other departments within the Trust and pertinent agencies outside the organisation St George's Neonatal Unit is a perinatal medical and surgical referral centre, covering the South West London sector and beyond. The unit has a capacity of 40 cots, 12 of which are intensive care, 12 high dependency and 16 special care. We have a large medical and nursing establishment of 190 staff with a range of nursing positions from Neonatal Assistants to Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. Exciting opportunities are now available for Band 5 staff nurses with an interest in neonatal care as a career. You may be newly qualified, or alternatively, already have previous NHS experience in acute care. The service offers a comprehensive Induction Programme, Preceptorship and accredited Work Based Learning competencies. In addition to modules in the speciality, the unit also provides In-service education days, CPAP study days and IV Administration training.
