We are looking for a dedicated, forward thinking individual, who is able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the Occupational Therapy provision within Sunderland CYPS. The post holder will work in the community setting providing assessment and intervention packages for children and their families referred to the service with mental health, neurodiversity and/or learning disabilities. The post will be supervised, supported and line managed by the Clinical Lead OT and Team Clinical Lead The post holder would be expected to demonstrate an understanding of a range of clinical conditions related to mental health, including knowledge of theories, models and approaches relevant to the clinical setting. These should include occupational models of thinking as alongside person-centred care, psychosocial, educational, cognitive approaches . Experience of working with children is desirable but not essential as full support and training will be given. The post holder's main duties will be to provide occupational therapy within the team, specifically focusing on self care, productivity and leisure. Supporting with the neurodevelopmental assessment pathway. Facilitating and supporting group work. CYPS offer a full induction and robust in house training package covering many elements of the service including but not restricted to Tics & Tourettes, Trauma informed practice, therapeutic interventions and supporting neurodevelopmental presentations.
