Our Cardiac Theatres Team has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Cardiac Anaesthetic Practitioner / ODP. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic, committed, and dynamic individual with Anaesthetic Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills to support the team in achieving high standards of patient care within theatres.In return we offer comprehensive training in all aspects of our service. In addition, we have a dedicated team of Theatre Clinical Educators who will support and guide you through the excellent range of opportunities that UHCW NHS Trust has to offer. There will be an on call commitment required as part of the post to cover out of hours working. As a provider of patient-centred care, we are passionate about delivering excellent care to our local and extended population in the acute environment and in recent years, our theatres have achieved large gains in productivity and efficiency through improved capacity management and real-time tracking of theatre activity. The primary focus of the post is to ensure that the Trust provides high quality patient centred care. The practitioner will act as an advocate for patients. The practitioner will provide clinical leadership for a specified theatre / specialist area. The practitioner will carry out a wide range of theatre duties at the direction of senior staff. Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills. Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing surgery. Maintain health, safety, and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures. Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies Prepare, monitor, and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty. Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures. Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies. Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures Maintain accurate & legible records of care.
