This post is a permanent position contracted to 37.5 hours. The successful applicant will be based at The Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The Post Holder will undertake delegated duties, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Operating department practitioner, and following a period of training and completion of core competencies. Assisting in the care of the surgical patient during the peri-operative period by supporting all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Carry out activities such as moving and transferring patients between beds and operating tables in a safe manner, with the minimum discomfort to patients, using appropriate aids and equipment. Support registered staff in providing a safe, high-quality peri-operative environment for carrying out a range of surgical procedures. The post holder will be expected to: Assist in the care of patients during their peri-operative journey. Assist registered staff in the preparation of the perioperative environment. Assist the clinical team as required. Assist in the general upkeep, and maintenance of stock levels. Provide a safe peri-operative environment that minimises the risk of infection.
