The post will be based at York Hospital. The Radiology Department consists of 5 admin teams and requires close liaison with our Radiographers and Radiologists to deliver a high quality service for our patients. We have in the region of 2000 elective patients attending for imaging on our York and Selby sites each week. In addition to this we also provide a 24/7 acute service to emergency admissions through CT and x-ray. The successful candidate will have excellentline management andcommunication skills; will work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff on a daily basis, organising and prioritising both their own workload and that of others.Youmust have the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving, and the ability to practice delegation, negotiation and motivation skills. Most importantlyyoumust have a flexible and patient centred approach. The successful candidate will be required to: Providesuccessful and structuredmanagement support on a daily basis. The main focusbeing the management ofday-to-day operational issues,ensuring thesmooth running of all the department's services. Assist the Operational Manager in the maintenance and development ofappointment systems and administrative functions. Support the Operational Manager in investigating and responding to patient complaints and concerns, in an appropriate and timely manner, in accordance with Trust policy. Be responsible for the monitoring of patient pathways, including undertaking activity and waiting list monitoring, for both outpatient and inpatients to enable the specialty to meet access targets Develop the Admin Coordinators, Team Leaders and their teams, through robust training, coaching and feedback to develop a robust service provision and opportunity to develop and grow. You will be responsible for line managing of a team of secretarial and administrative staff. This will include a combination of acting as an appointment panel member, recruitment, conducting personal development reviews, dealing with the initial or subsequent stages of disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and performance issues. You will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate training is delivered to staff, and that individual staff members work allocation is managed effectively and reallocated as required to best meet the needs of the service.
