We are working closely with colleagues of the wider Bromley CAMHS team and a number of external agencies. You will be a qualified nurse with a RMN qualification, registered with the NMC and experience within a mental health setting. You will need to have a good understanding and a high level of competence with ADHD treatments and therapeutic skills and be responsive and flexible in your approach to working with children and young people. Care co-ordinate and manage a defined caseload of clients with ADHD, ASD and co-morbid disorders with a view to promoting the management of the disorder in a community setting. Co-ordinate and deliver individualised care packages/programmes for clients with ADHD/ASD and their families and evaluate these programmes, ensuring high standards of practice in accordance with national guidelines and trust policy. Undertake supplementary non medical prescribing duties following appropriate accredited training (this being entered on the NMC register). Mentoring and providing awareness sessions relating to supplementary nurse prescribing for nurses across the trust/directorate. To lead on developing psycho-education input for children with ADHD/ASD and their families. Engage therapeutically with clients and their carers in a variety of settings as appropriate to the needs of the client and to be able to assess the risk of working in particular areas. To be able to plan and facilitate appropriate therapeutic intervention including group work for the specialist client group, their families and carers. Assess and manage high risk clients and assess the risk to the client and others on an ongoing basis within the role as care co-ordinator. To effectively and appropriately communicate these risks often under difficult, highly charged and emotional circumstances to medical staff, other professionals and families involved in the care of the client.
