Mental Health Practitioner We have two Band 6 posts available to work within our Mental Health Team in Stockport. One post will specifically focus on reducing inequalities and promoting Inclusion. The post holders will be members of the multi-disciplinary Healthy Young Minds service working as part of the integrated Mental Health Support Team which will support schools across the borough. The post holders are responsible for providing mental health assessments, evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions and consultation for children, adolescents and families and professionals. In addition, the post holders are encouraged to develop a specific therapeutic modality as a specialty for the service. Wave 12-To address unmet need and health inequalities within each locality, ensuring better access and outcomes for underrepresented groups. We are looking for enthusiastic dynamic motivated individuals who are passionate about making a difference to young peoples lives. The post holder will be an integral part of the MHST. You will use your clinical skills to listen to the needs of the child and family to provide meaningful evidence based interventions, that can demonstrate clinical change. You will support staff in schools and colleges to help the whole system develop an understanding of how to work together to improve health and mental wellbeing. About us To provide or provide access to CBT/CBT informed interventions in accordance with individual assessed need. This will include the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of a variety of therapeutic approaches either alone or as a member of the MDT To contribute to the development and provision of services to children and young people. To perform all aspects of the role in accordance with Trust policies and other national bodies. To engage in / deliver managerial and clinical supervision, including with appropriate consent, recording and reviewing of live clinical work. To routinely monitor effectiveness of clinical work by use of Routine Outcome Measures (ROM) and where outcomes are not improving for children and families to engage in clinical review via peer review meetings and supervision. To work with a defined caseload of service users as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, care planning and care delivery for service users with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This will include the provision of highly skilled professional care, psychological interventions, group work, clinical assessment, risk assessments / risk management, and promoting recovery and inclusion and ensuring co- production with service users, families and carers and the education staff. To identify and develop strategies to manage risk to the child and others in line with Pennine care and Camhs procedures and protocols. To provide specialist advice to other members of staff and trainees and act as a role model. To liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and outside agencies in the implementation of patient care. To ensure that care activities are research based and in keeping with changes in the field of activity. To contribute to the development of ideas and innovative practice and propose changes to protocols and procedures within the mental health support team and CAMHS where required.
