Public Health Wales provides health protection services to the people of Wales. The service is integrated and is primarily delivered through health protection teams, Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre (CDSC); health protection programmes (e.g. healthcare associated infections, antimicrobial resistance & prescribing (HARP), Immunisation and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Programme (VPDP), Blood borne viruses (BBV), sexual health, TB and Inequalities, and environmental health protection) and the microbiology laboratories and reference laboratories / specialist services. We are looking for an experienced, innovative, collaborative and dynamic individuals to join a team of analytical specialists in the Vaccine Preventable Disease Programme (VPDP) to provide a proactive and responsive service. The post holder will provide analytical support to the development and maintenance of public health surveillance schemes in the VPDP / CDSC. This will include developing analysis plans and advising on efficient analysis of large datasets, as required. Support may be across any of the VPDP / CDSC areas of expertise as required. including cross-cutting groups include field epidemiology; settings-based surveillance; and environmental surveillance.
