To work as a member of the tissue viability and wound therapy service to undertake the nursing care of patients attending Medway community healthcare wound clinics, community nursing and leg ulcer clinics To provide effective evidence based wound care including the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care, prescription of treatment and advice to patients who are seen by the service. To support wound therapist in the management of the clinics and take responsibility for the care and treatment of your patients. To oversee the healthcare assistants in the team as required and support the nurse therapist with allocated students and other visitors to the clinic. About us Person specification Criteria Essential Desirable Qualifications Registered nurse on Part 1 of the Nursing Midwifery Council register Evidence of further study Mentorship or training qualification Evidence of completion of tissue viability and leg ulcer degree module or equivalent or willingness to undertake at earliest opportunity Recognised degree in nursing or equivalent qualification Nurse prescriber or willingness to undertake training Relevant post-graduate qualification, e.g. in elderly care, chronic disease management, long term conditions Experience Post graduate accumulative experience in the fields of tissue viability or leg ulcer management /elderly/ community/ long term conditions. Experience of delivering education and teaching.
