As directed and under direct supervision of Clinical /Registered Practitioner assist with any necessary controlled restraint of patients after the relevant training is undertaken. Ensure any Portering related equipment is suitable for usage and report any problems via the appropriate person(s), remove from use until repaired and ensure the correct reporting / repair procedures are followed. Check, transport and change Medical Gases (and their associated equipment) using suitable transportation to / from the appropriate storage facilities, within UHP and surrounding areas. Ensure correct and clean equipment is used and that you are suitably qualified for moving this equipment, which at times may be heavy and awkward to move. Ensure that Portering related equipment is, suitably maintained, cleaned, stored, and accessible and used safely in compliance to Trust policies and procedures. Maintain cleanliness of the relevant storage areas related to Portering and ensure area is kept clear of waste and accessibility is maintained. We are hosting a Porter Interview Day on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th October. All applicants must apply and then be invited to interview. On the day, you will be invited to a short talk from our Portering team to understand more about the role, and then invited to interview following this talk. As a porter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth movement of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital. This dynamic position not only offers a competitive salary and flexible hours but also provides an opportunity to work alongside a compassionate team in a supportive environment. We are recruiting into three areas within the hospital, and these will be discussed with you on the interview day.
