Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for working with voice, dysphagia and upper airway disorders? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! This newly funded role involves setting up an exciting new service, working alongside respiratory physiotherapy to develop the service profile in order to plan and provide therapy to an adult upper airway caseload. This will include working primarily with patients with chronic cough, ILO, breathing pattern disorders and associated dysphonia/dysphagia inclusive of the long covid population. We welcome applications from candidates with the pre-requisite skills at a highly specialist level as well as from those who aspire to develop their knowledge and skills in this specialist clinical area. Under Annex 21, we are offering you the opportunity to complete a dedicated competency framework, with access to regular supervision from an experienced clinician, focused CPD activities and a clear pathway for completion of your training. This role requires strong and effective working relationships within an MDT environment, working alongside respiratory physiotherapy, the covid recovery team and the pulmonary rehabilitation team. The post holder will be innovative and dynamic with specialist clinical skills relating to upper airway disorders and their assessment and treatment. They will be required to take a lead role on service planning, review, quality improvement and clinical audit. You will be based within a friendly and supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists working in Voice, ENT and Head and Neck Cancer. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to optimise patient care with access to videofluoroscopy, multiple FEES stacks and instrumental bio-feedback equipment for dysphagia rehabilitation. There are well established links with ENT, respiratory physiotherapy and the pulmonary rehabilitation team, as well as across the wider SLT department. There are opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills and expand professional development with support from specialist colleagues. "}
