The role will alternate between working in the main office area, dealing with a telephone calls and clinic management and assisting the Nurse Specialists and Dietitians during patient facing activity. You will support the patients and their families and liaise with social care providers, GP's and other outside agencies regarding the patients care plans both verbally and in writing. About us Be based in the Nottingham Childrens Hospital and work collaboratively within the multi professional Child and Adolescent East Midlands Collaborative Metabolic Service. To work as a member of a team providing a high quality service to children and young people with metabolic conditions. Keeping in close contact with patients, their families and others involved in the day-to-day care. Offers support and advice (under supervision) to optimise the management of patients metabolic conditions and theirphysical, psychological, intellectual, educational and social development. To assist the Childrens Metabolic Team in fulfilling the day to day logistics of the service; clerical support, follow up of patients by phone/text /email contact and updating of databases. To support the maintenance of a robust framework that meets the needs of children and young people with metabolic conditions. Assist the development of health promotion and educational resources in conjunction with other health care professionals ensuring that all patient care within the multidisciplinary team is based on research. Be an accessible, approachable member of the team as a first point of contact for patient and families. Be able to work independently within the scope of the role.
