The post-holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of operational duties, being an active member of the Surgical Care Management Team. Key results: Line manages the administrative team and ensures that efficient working practices and standards are in place, and that standard operating procedures are developed and maintained. Validating 18 weeks clocks in the specialties and supporting secretarial training in this role. Problem solve any issues which arise on a day-to-day basis in the directorate regarding clinics, notes, waiting lists or other operational problems with providing the service. Assist in the management of projects in order to delivery key objectives Investigate informal complaints and incidents in line with the trust policy as required. Communicate effectively within the Directorate and between Directorates Working with consultant teams, secretaries, theatres and the access team to manage the waiting lists effectively. Support the Assistant Service Manager and Service Manager with duties as appropriate. Ensure typing is managed in a timely way. Lead on responses to informal complaints in line with trust policy. Line manages the administrative team and ensures that programmes/reviews affecting them are fully implemented and communicated effectively. Support with preparation and writing up of Specialty Meeting reports and actions. Undertake risk reviews and populate risk registers, as appropriate. Ensure the Assistant Directorate Manager is kept updated on issues that could affect Specialty performance.
