The successful applicant will join the team of Specialist Midwives to ensure that the National Antenatal and Newborn Screening programmes are delivered safely and effectively within the service at Frimley Health. We work closely with NHS England's regional screening and immunisation teams and also support the maternal and neonatal immunisation service within our organisation. In addition, this role requires the individual to work with the wider multidisciplinary team including specialist fetal medicine consultants, sexual health services, gastroenterology services and tertiary Fetal Medicine and genetic Services. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential as this is a very busy but unique role that will allow the successful applicant to develop skills in the management of service that affects all areas of maternity care. Computer Literacy skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office packages including Word, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint are essential for this role. Previous applicants need not apply. The main duties of this role are to support the Antenatal Screening Coordinator and specialist Midwives to deliver the NHSE antenatal and Newborn screening programmes. The team deal with a range of issues including: Supporting women to discuss and make choices during pregnancy when there are additional concerns. Counselling women and couples about high chance screening results Coordinating care for women with positive infectious disease screening results, HIV , Syphilis and hepatitis. Support parents and coordinate multidisciplinary care for babies with known fetal abnormalities and babies with suspected chromosome abnormalities including supporting parents to make choices to continue or terminate the pregnancy. Capture and maintain extensive data which is required to track our population and monitor performance in line with national standards. About us The successful applicant will be an experienced Midwife, required to work independently and as part of a close knit team . They will be compassionate and non-judgemental offering a sensitive approach to difficult conversations. The post holder will need to have good computer literacy skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
