We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dedicated Occupational Therapist with extensive skills, knowledge and experience in the area of Paediatrics. The successful candidate must have post graduate experience with evidence of consolidation of specialist OT competencies within the area of Paediatrics. The successful candidate will be part of a growing team of OTs, supporting children and young people between the ages of 0-18 years You will be joining a skilled Band 7 Leadership team, working closely with the OT clinical lead, ensuring that the service works to a high standard.As a band 7, you will have the opportunity to shape the service, to work on the development of pathways and to ensure that our service is evidence based. We are part of a multi-disciplinary therapies team who work to deliver a high quality service for the children of Newham and their families. Within the Child Development Service, the team work closely with multidisciplinary partners such as Dietitians, Paediatricians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Specialist Nurses, The post-holder willmanage a complex clinical varied caseload, and will have the opportunity to supportmore junior staff and students through supervision and competency development. There will be a strong emphasis on the post holder being committed to in service improvement, audit and QI. About us To provide a highly specialised client centered occupational therapy service to children (0-18 years) who live or attend School in Newham and have additional needs. This includes those who present with highly complex health and social needs due to a wide range of diagnoses which can present as acute, chronic and life limiting. To work as a highly skilled autonomous practitioner in managing a highly complex clinical caseload by applying highly specialist knowledge and skills to the assessment of the needs of this client group. Provide a service which takes into consideration working with children, young people and families from a range of cultural, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds in the context of a multicultural, diverse inner city London Borough. Deputise for the Clinical Lead when necessary and appropriate. To be a part of the skilled Leadership team with the Childrens OT Service with a view to support in the development of the service, guiding new and innovative ways of working whilst ensuring the needs of the client group and being met.
