As a senior leader within the organisation, and manager of the Procurement & Logistics function, the role of Deputy Director will provide specialist expertise to lead the strategic development of the service. The post holder will have detailed knowledge of Public Sector Procurement and Contracting Legislation, logistics and supply chain, and broad in-depth experience of complex procurement projects with precedents gained at a senior level, working within a large, multi-layered organisation and ideally across multiple organisations. The role also requires an individual with a proven track record of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), commercial acumen and success in actively driving, managing and leveraging category spend to support the strategic needs of the Procurement & Logistics Department. The role is responsible for leading and developing the Procurement & Logistics Teams to deliver complex procurement projects, alongside the functional management of procurement staff and service delivery. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead, inspire and drive a culture of continual improvement, ensuring that Procurement & Logistics business processes are effective and efficient and enable the highest possible levels of service quality to be provided. About us Jointly hold responsibility with other senior colleagues, for the delivery of the Directorates performance and the achievement of the Trusts strategic objectives. Responsible for overall leadership and management of the Procurement & Logistics function at EEAST. Oversee the leadership, management and development of logistical systems and processes to provide a reliable supply chain to all business areas, including arrangements between regional supply areas, standardisation of products, best value testing, and robust audit arrangements. Provide expertise over a wide range of specialities in the assessment of products, equipment, maintenance and related goods and services. Support Trust leaders in the research, development and innovation associated with the procurement of new products, technologies and services, as required. Collaborate with Integrated Care Services and Trusts in the assessment of products and equipment in support of the standardisation agenda and future opportunities. Drive standardisation and collaboration of Procurement & Logistics across the Trust and manage teams to ensure the effective procurement and distribution of clinical and non-clinical goods and services. Responsible for leading the Procurement & Logistics Teams to deliver complex procurement projects, alongside the functional management of procurement staff and service delivery. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead, inspire and drive a culture of continual improvement, ensuring that Procurement & Logistics business processes are effective and efficient and enable the highest possible levels of service quality to be provided. Lead on strategic related activities such as the implementation of Purchase to Pay and Inventory Management System.
