This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to develop or expand their current knowledge and skills working within the MDT of a specialist eating disorder service. It is essential that the applicant holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle. The successful candidate will be provided with training, supervision, and guidance to help expand on their current knowledge and skills. The post holder will be expected to provide care co-ordination and treatment for service users with a primary diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa, or severe medically complicated Bulimia Nervosa. At times this will involve joint working with CTT's so that service users can also access support for other mental health conditions, as well as their eating disorder. The post holder will be expected to contribute regularly to the duty system managing queries and referrals to the team. There will be an expectation to provide scaffolding advice and training to other professionals outside of CAEDS who are also supporting people with eating difficulties. The evidenced based treatments currently offered are predominately MANTRA/MANTRA informed therapy and Specialist Structured Clinical Management (SSCM) if the successful candidate has not had this training, these opportunities will be available. CAEDS covers quite a large geographical area spanning across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, South of Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland. About us The role of Community Practitioner within Community Adult Eating Disorders involves carrying out complex assessments and risk management plans for service users with a diagnosis, or possible diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa or severe medically complicated Bulimia Nervosa. The role includes carrying out appointments in various venues across the areas CAEDS cover, including the service users home. The role involves carrying a caseload of patients and undertaken a care co-ordination role and working alongside other disciplines with the MDT. The person in this post will be on the duty system rota and will be expected to triage and manage referrals/ queries to the service. The role involves liaising with other professionals within CNTW services and external agencies. Please find attached job description for full details.
