Main duties of the job To provide specialist oncology advice and clinical practice to patients within the outpatient and inpatient setting. Working closely with the CNS's for breast team , the consultant Oncologists and the wider cancer teams, to maintain and develop the delivery of best practice in the care and management of secondary breast cancers from referral or diagnosis onwards. Providing care and support for patients who have metastatic disease. Act as referral and liaison for the MDT and an information resource for those who are involved in the care and management of breast malignancies. To work autonomously as a specialist resource for breast oncology patients with cancer conditions, their carers and other professionals. Work collaboratively with Nurse Specialist and Consultant Medical Staff in breast-Oncology, monitoring and evaluating standards of care to meet National Guidelines. Provide care for a case load of patients Deliver HNA assessments and end of treatment summaries. Expedite patient's admission and discharge processes. Aim to prevent unnecessary admissions, working closely with AOS. Ensure a seamless efficient care pathway for the breast-oncology patient.
