We are looking for HCAs who can work full time, 37.5 hours per week. Please note that regardless of hours, you will be required to work on a rota basis, inclusive of Monday - Friday, weekends, nights and bank holidays. We cannot accommodate only nights. The post holder will provide high quality essential care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner: Acting always in the patient's best interests. Protecting and maintaining the patient's privacy and dignity at all times. Providing individualised care for a diverse group of patients respecting personal beliefs and preferences. Alert the Registered Practitioner and/or Ward/ Department Manager to any change or concern relating to the welfare of the patient in a timely manner. Undertake specific clinical skills relevant to clinical area following training and assessment of competence e.g. performing venepuncture, cannulation and escorting patients. Provides enhanced levels of care to patients requiring additional supervision and support to ensure their personal safety and wellbeing needs are met. OPD HCA requirements: Must be able to work independently and under pressure as well as working within specific timeframes Must have some theatre experience (e.g. aseptic technique) Must have completed Care Certificate Good communication skills (both verbal and written) as we work with a large volume of patients and MDT on a daily basis Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems. Must be adaptable to fast changing environments due to the nature of clinic work.
