The ethos of this service is about assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we will support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community. This vacancy sits on Shelley Ward .Shelley Wardis our 16 bed male low secure service, providing recovery based treatment for men whose mental health needs result in continuing and ongoing disturbed or challenging behaviour and who may have a dual diagnosis. Many of our service users have a significant forensic history and we work closely with external agencies including the Ministry of Justice and MAPPA. Individual sex offending treatment is offered on Shelley Ward and RSVP (the Risk of Sexual Violence Protocol) is used on the ward to evaluate risk. Your role responsibilities Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist Assess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service users Participate in weekly ward rounds & attend multidisciplinary meetings Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development Participate in an on-call rota of 4 or 5 on calls per month Why Cygnet?
