The Costing team offers a comprehensive service, from the development and implementation of patient level costing systems through to the everyday use of Service Line Reporting. By offering tailored consultative support and guidance to services, the Costing team is an integral resource within the Finance Department. The post holder will be working in an integrated team that includes Senior Finance Managers and support staff and will work collaboratively with the Assistant Costing Accountant to ensure that each post supports the other in delivering required outcomes to required timescales. They will also liaise with all other directorates including Medical Staffing, Estates and Operations. They will need to develop strong links with Service Managers to improve the understanding of the costs of services and the accuracy of cost allocations and apportionments. Reporting to the Head of Financial Management, the Costing Development Accountant will be the Trust lead for costing and will build and develop key relationships with performance, IM&T and suppliers to ensure that key outputs are robust and are produced in a timely manner in an accessible format. They will also act as the Trust's representative on the East Midlands Costing Group. The post holder will develop the costing and reporting system to produce the required financial information to support the national requirements of the costing transformation program, leading on the design and development of SLR and PLICS reporting. The successful applicant will develop and maintain internal and external benchmarking information and supporting analysis to help to enable improvement in efficiency and productivity in front line services. Included in this is the production and submission of National Cost Collection. "}
