Main duties of the job Lead investigation of serious incidents and adverse events with senior medical, nursing and maternity staff, providing timely information reports to be presented at Governance meeting: analyse/identifying the trends, lessons learnt and recommending/challenging practices to appropriately reduce risks and protects patient safety. Support staff and guide them in the management of incidents and complaints, promoting reflection on practice and disseminating learning. Lead on the implementation and management of change in response to learning from incidents, ensuring that any necessary actions are taken to prevent similar incidents occurring. Ensure the appropriate level of investigation is undertaken in response to incidents, reflecting the severity of incidents. 6. Ensure incident reporting via relevant Trust and national governance pathways. To support the delivery of the Neonatal Unit risk, quality and safety agenda ensuring departmental compliance with CQC outcomes. This will include collaborating closely with the neonatal data manger and other stakeholders to provide accurate outcome reports. Report to and participate in, relevant Trust and Neonatal Network Governance and Risk meetings. To work closely with Divisional Governance lead ensuring that all governance related matters are communicated to the management team and are up to date.
