Applications are invited from nurses with a passion for clinical education and practice development with the drive to ensure clinical staff provide high quality, safe and compassionate care to our patients. We are also proud to host the Defence Medical Group South East at Frimley Park with military surgical, medical and nursing personnel working alongside the hospital's NHS staff providing care to patients in all specialties Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: To work with the Clinical Education team to provide support and assistance to all learners and staff To provide a link between the ward/departments and the Clinical Education department To take on the role of a workstream link within the clinical education directorate Working clinically alongside learners and staff to support development of clinical skills, achievement of competencies and facilitating theory/practice links To carry out learner assessments in line with placement requirements To assist with evaluation of training and education for learners Disseminate education with regards to corporate and patient safety issues To support the implementation of practice changes in response to identified corporate and patient safety issues Ensure an environment conducive to learning is provided for all learners and staff Foster a learning environment within the ward and departmental areas, ensuring staff are provided with opportunities to develop and update their clinical expertise in the support of learners and staff To assist in the delivery of educational programmes to meet specific training needs including objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) Ability to autonomously facilitate teaching for all learners within the remit of the Clinical Education team Co-ordinate/assist in corporate training within the department Network and establish links with other Clinical Educators in order to benchmark current practice and aid own and colleague’s professional development Person specification Qualification Essential criteria NMC registrant with relevant years experience at Band 5/6 Practice assessor or equivalent or working towards Up to date with mandatory training Desirable criteria Experience of working within education Report writing skills Specific competencies Essential criteria Ability to prepare, deliver and evaluate training programmes including OSCE preparations Recent experience of supervising, assessing and supporting students and junior staff Highly motivated, ability to prioritise workload and deadlines Desirable criteria Experience of change management and clinical audit Skills Essential criteria Ability to facilitate teaching sessions within a classroom setting Apply online now"}
