Job description Job responsibilities This role will work as part of an integrated team (Local Authority and NHS employees) that delivers corporate and business objectives for both the Royal Borough of Greenwich Public Health Team and the SEL Integrated Care Board. Purpose of Job: 1.You will provide expert support for the Live Well Prevention System (including Personalised Care infrastructure) and budgets which directly contribute to these objectives; this will include direct support to the teams delivering the personalised care infrastructure; developing the programme and the infrastructure and ensuring it continues to meet changing population needs. 2.You will lead the significant expansion of our community development approach at neighbourhood level to a boroughwide approach; this will include supporting the further development of volunteer led teams in conjunction with core stakeholders. This will include a particular focus on disadvantaged areas and groups across the Borough as a key element of the prevention system. 3.You will bring a high level of expert public health knowledge to bear in complex multi-agency development agendas, supporting long term population level plans and leading on their implementation and evaluation. 4.Your work will include working across the wider organisation, NHS bodies, Local Authorities, and other partner agencies. It will also involve influencing private sector, voluntary sector and community sector organisations that can impact on health and influencing the attitudes and behaviour both of professionals and of the population generally. Where relevant it will also include leadership of the delivery of jointly funded or externally funded programmes of work. Manages up to 4 directly managed staff. Manages up to 20 indirectly managed consultancy/contracting staff. Responsible for over 400 volunteer/champion roles Main Duties: 1.Building on the neighbourhood work during the pandemic, lead on the development of community aspects of neighbourhood development which aims to promote a strong Voluntary and Community Sector infrastructure, locally grown ideas, community action and volunteering, co-produced solutions, the voice of diverse communities and confident people living healthy lives. This will require developing the community development infrastructure and linking to the personalised care infrastructure in Primary Care Networks, as well as being responsible for the community champions programme. This will include planning and delivering interventions at community level that aim to achieve high levels of participation; empowering communities with increased knowledge, skills and confidence and greater capacity for working together. 2.Providing strategic leadership on the development of the Community Champions Programme. This will include developing a strategic approach to expanding the programme, refocussing it to support the development of neighbourhoods and identifying new ways of supporting wider improvements in health and wellbeing. 3.Senior Leadership of the Live Well Prevention System, including strategic input into commissioning, and support for local service developments. This will include developing the community and workforce e.g., through the Make Every Count Programme, Royal Society of Public Health training. Provide management and direct support for the delivery of the personalised care infrastructure; including chairing the weekly multidisciplinary team meets and supporting the team. 4.Effective management of CCG and RBG budgets used to commission the relevant prevention, population health and primary care services for the population of Greenwich, along with the management of key staff. This will include identifying and drawing in additional resources from partners and through funding bids in partnership with community organisations. 5.Research evidence locally and nationally and benchmark with other NHS organisations and local authorities to identify the most effective delivery methods. 6.Engendering close working relationship with a range of PH colleagues and teams, other RBG departments and external organisations (including service GP practices, NHS Trusts, the third sector and other providers), community organisations and community members.
