We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern is 4 days Tues-Friday NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. Due to the anticipated response to this post it may close before the closing date noted on the advert therefore once you start your application form please complete it immediately As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will assist with the safe operation of the Milk Bank. Responsible for providing the support required to process donors and milk through the technical and laboratory service supporting the safe operation of the Milk Bank: Liaise on a daily basis with the milk bank nurse, provide general support with milk bank tasks to help ensure the smooth running of the milk bank Ensure all aspects of the sampling, testing and pasteurisation of the milk are facilitated according to Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure stocks of consumables (e.g. sterile containers, dip slides, labels) are maintained and ordered and that the freezers and their contents are appropriately organised, cleaned and maintained. Liaise with milk bank manager regarding milk stock and rotation of raw milk Ensure all relevant pasteurisation records are maintained and stored Ensure the donor milk and all milk samples are appropriately labelled and stored Ensure all enquiries to the Milk Bank are dealt with politely, courteously, promptly and professionally.
