To work with clients and/or carers to identify goals as part of an overall care plan in co-operation with the multi professional team. To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions in collaboration with clients using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals. To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment for clients with multiple needs/pathology in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention. To demonstrate and apply a broad level of understanding of the effect of disability and recommend adaptations to the clients physical and social environment. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Childrens Occupational Therapy team in Widnes and Runcorn in a specialist band 6 role. We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with children and young adults across a variety of settings. We encourage applicants with experience of working in a paediatric setting or those who work with adults with physical, developmental conditions or complex needs and are looking to transfer those skills to a younger population. We can also support someone who wishes to return to practice. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) to be worked over 5 days. An individual who already has paediatric experience or has an interest in paediatric care and child development and a willingness to develop their skills in this area. An individual who can hold their own caseload. This will include functional and coordination assessments, intervention planning and the ability to evaluate and record outcomes for a range of children with complex conditions. There will also be a requirement to assess for specialist paediatric equipment in the school environment. You will need to be a team player and work collaboratively as part of an integrated therapy team.
