The team works across the city to offer the young adults of Birmingham specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention to those in crisis and needing support of the Home Treatment Team. As a senior clinical support worker, you will be responsible for supporting young people on our home treatment caseload. Your role will be paramount in delivering interventions and supporting the multi-disciplinary team in reducing admissions to hospital. You will be skilled in building therapeutic relationships with young people and able to engage in meaningful conversation. You will be confident in working with professionals around the young person, including education, social care and voluntary sector agencies. You will need to be dynamic in your approach to engaging young people, flexible and adaptable to respond to crises as and when they happen and be committed to community based mental health intervention. The role involves working in the community so a Full driving license and access to a vehicle for business purposes is essential. We have recently expanded our service to offer a new Health based Place of Safety and psychiatric decisions unit for young people. As part of your role of Senior Clinical Support Worker you may be expected to cross cover this service on occasion, and therefore be expected to undertake additional training relevant to the role. Main duties of the job To deliver defined therapeutic interventions and devise a person centered care plan To develop working relationships with families and young people To monitor risk levels and escalate as appropriate to senior members of the team. To foster and maintain working relationships with professionals and stakeholders. To support young people and families to develop an robust care plan and review regularly.
