I am keen to hear from you if you are a Pharmacy Assistant looking to move from Community into Hospital Pharmacy, or are looking to progress further in your career within a Hospital setting. Ideally you will hold the Pharmacy Service Skills NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent GPhC recognised qualification), although this is not essential for recruitment into this post as full training and support through this qualification process can be provided. The Stores team within Dispensary is responsible for receiving in pharmaceutical stock, maintaining stock levels, fluid top ups for wards, backfilling porter duties as directed by the Stores Senior Technician. The successful candidate will be utilising the robot to support the labelling and dispensing of medications and will be trained in the full use of the robotic system. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining accurate medication records and assisting in efficient stock control management, including expiry date checking, receipting, unpacking and putting away of deliveries and filling the automated dispensing system and ordering of IV fluids for wards and stocks. We are looking for a Band 2 Pharmacy Assistant to join the Dispensary Team at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This is a full time post (37.5hrs per week) however flexible working options would also be considered. Previous Pharmacy experience is not essential and this post is ideal for someone looking to move from a community to hospital Pharmacy role or to start a career within a healthcare setting. The candidate will be required to work towards an NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services if they do not already hold this qualification. You would be supported in this by our Education and Training Team. Duties The John Radcliffe Dispensary Team are supported by technology and the Automated dispensing system (robot) directly labels medicines before they are released. The post holder will be trained in the full use of the robotic system. Key duties of this role include: Labelling and dispensing medicines according to procedure Assisting in efficient stock control management. Receipt, unpacking and putting away of deliveries and filling the automated dispensing system. Conducting checks of expiry dates and stock levels. Delivering pharmacy goods to the ward areas in the absence of a Pharmacy Porter Ordering IV fluids for wards and stock.
