We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse who can provide high quality patient care. The successful candidate will be able to work within a team and foster good communication to enhance the patient experience. Markus ward is an 8 person, single-roomed, Private Patient medical oncology unit specialising in the delivery of inpatient chemotherapy regimens and management of symptoms caused by cancer and its various treatment modalities. The post requires a nurse who shows passion in working with oncology patients, is hard-working, who works well within a team, is flexible and committed to the team and patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dedicated, professional and friendly team with a diverse patient group and with great potential for clinical and educational development. There are plenty of opportunities whilst working within The Royal Marsden. We will support you to develop your competencies and skills and there will be plenty of study days you could attend and opportunities to join the Royal Marsden school for further studies. To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients. To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans. To participate fully in the day to day organization and running of clinical trials including the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a clinical trial and liaison as required with trial sponsors. To assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to a patient in accordance with the NMC code of conduct. There is an expectation for post holders: To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff To participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators To assist with any local or trust initiatives to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of services and safeguarding of high standards of care To be aware of all hospital policies and procedures and collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure that these are observed To help foster a supportive working environment and maintain staff morale.
