Candidates should be highly motivated, forward thinking, enthusiastic and flexible. They should demonstrate excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team with a commitment to providing a quality service to our patients and an inclusive, open, and supportive work environment for our staff. The successful candidate will rotate between all areas of the Radiology Department where you will be responsible for the implementation and smooth running of the clinical sessions. You will scrub/monitor and assist the radiologist and clinical specialist radiographers during interventional procedures. You will assist in the running of the Interventional Radiology Day Case Unit, admitting patients, providing post procedure care and safe nurse-led discharge. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in the 24/7 out of hours, non-residential on call service and must be prepared to work flexible shifts. Working within the day case unit as well as Interventional Room Admission and discharge of Day case patients. Monitoring physiological observations and supporting patients during procedures. Administering Intravenous sedation and pain relief during procedures where required. Emotionally supporting patients and their families during their journey through Interventional Radiology. Recovery care for patients post procedure within Interventional radiology protocols. Infection control and audit Pre op telephone assessments with patients and follow up calls. Cross modality working in CT and ultrasound . Liaising with wards and working with other Allied Health Professionals. Surgical Scrub nurse support during procedures.
