NHS LOTHIAN PHARMACY & MEDICINES SERVICE West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) PHARMACY SUPPORT WORKER Primary Care 2x AFC Band 3 Pharmacy Support Worker (Full and Part Time Opportunities) Salary Scale: £25,468 - £27,468 NHS Lothian covers Edinburgh city, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian. West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) are looking for dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy support workers, to take forward key prescribing initiatives within NHS Lothian. Working with the Primary Care Pharmacy team, GPs, other healthcare professionals and practice staff, this job will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to optimise prescribing and medicines management in GP practices, Care Homes and community hospitals across West Lothian. Key aspects of this role will involve providing pharmaceutical care to individual patients whenever they present by meeting their particular needs while maximizing efficiency in the use of resources. To provide medicines through systems of quality control that ensure safe, effective and economic use. To assist with the review of care home medication ordering between care home, general practice and community pharmacy. Ensure storage conditions of medicines within care homes are adequate. Promote cost effective use/ordering of medicines within care homes to reduce medicine waste. Assist with medication and prescription enquires and communicate locality pharmacy team work plan. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. Please note: if part-time the salary will be pro-rata. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
