The unit supports young people aged 13 to 18 who are experiencing severe emotional and mental health difficulties. We have two wards, The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit or PICU which has 10 beds. And Longview Ward. The General Adolescent Unit which has 15 beds. This position is for Longview Ward General Adolescent Unit. The unit is very proud to have an extensive Multi-Disciplinary Team consisting or Psychologists, Family Therapists, Psychotherapists, Drama and Art Therapists and teachers. We also have a very experienced medical team. The school is on site and our education centre has an Outstanding Ofsted Report. There are many training opportunities for you to further your career within the NHS. And you will be well supported by the team here. It takes someone with very special skills and attributes to work with our young people. And these young people are a real privilege to work with. Main duties of the job Supporting the young people with their activities of daily living. Taking young people on leave Note writing and reporting any concerns to the nursing team. Spending time with the young people and undertaking activities with them. Not enough experience but still want to join EPUT as a Health Care Assistant? We have a solution for you. If you have been successful at the interview stage, but do not have enough experience for this role, you may be offered a position as a Band 2 Heath Care Assistant Apprentice. As part of the Band 2 HCA role you will be enrolled onto the Apprenticeship scheme, providing you with the opportunity to earn as you learn. This role enables you to gain valuable experience on the wards/community settings whilst working towards gaining your Care Certificate and naturally progressing into the guaranteed Band 3 HCA role.
