In the unit systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) is administered IV, alongside supportive treatments such as blood and platelet transfusions. The team is looking for an enthusiastic SACT trained nurse to support and provide the chemotherapy treatment to our patients. To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of direct patient care. To take the lead on delegated responsibilities as defined by the Senior Sister/charge nurse and Matron To support the charge nurse/senior sister/matron to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients. To co-ordinate the day to day management of the SACT unit. To collaborate between Christie sites across the Greater Manchester area as required To manage, lead and motivate Band 5, 4 and 3 staff ensuring compliance of mandatory training and appraisal requirements. In the absence of the Senior Sister/charge nurse/Matron to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the SACT Unit. To ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patients ‘feedback to maintain and improve patient care. To act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
