Complete job planned elective orthopaedic outpatient activity We have a very exciting opportunity for a Band 8a Advanced Clinical Practitioner, with an interest in elective orthopaedics, to join our ACP team. The successful applicant will be a senior nurse already working in a leadership role with experience of working within the Trauma and Orthopaedic setting in an acute hospital setting. The post holder will require a high level of team working and communication with the Consultant body, other practitioners and junior doctors. The ACP team take the lead for the daily review and management of the patients on the ward with multi-disciplinary working with medical and therapy teams. We are looking for a committed team player who has high standards and is passionate about improving the patient experience with a keen interest in supporting and developing elective pathways. The associated job plan is indicative and will be agreed with the individual on appointment. The post holder will be expected to support the medical teams with medical management of elective orthopaedic patients on the elective orthopaedic ward. There is an expectation for the post holder to be flexible to support patient care on the elective orthopaedic ward RSUH, at County or one of the Trauma wards according to service needs. There will be an expectation to join the Directorate ACP rota to support 7 day service provision. The post holder will be able to support and influence the development of elective pathways with particular focus on day case arthroplasty work. The post holder will be supported to develop their knowledge and skills in this field to enable independent follow up of appropriate arthroplasty patients in the clinic environment at both RSUH and County Hospital according to job planned activity. There will be scope to develop and change the role for the benefit of the patients and the service once the post holder is in post with mutual agreement. "}
