You will need advanced communications skills and ability to deal with patients and relatives at a sometimes very anxious time. You will be expected to play an active role in creating individual treatment plans in line with current research and guidelines. As a registered general nurse you will have considerable nursing experience, preferably with an acute or community background. Experience of autonomous working and management will also be beneficial.
