Main duties of the job To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the cleaning service to the trust ensuring that the highest standard of environmental hygiene is delivered at all times in accordance with National Standards of Cleanliness and in line with the Operational Cleaning Plan. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness are consistently delivered through the effective use of resources and that staff are managed in accordance with trust policy. To assist the Cleanliness Manager in the recruitment and retention of staff. To ensure that all resources are effectively deployed to ensure standards are maintained. To manage staff leave to ensure that disruption to service is avoided. To undertake cleanliness monitoring in line with Departmental guidelines taking corrective action where necessary. To participate in PLACE/Efficacy and Exemplar audits as required. To order and control stock . To maintain equipment inventories compiling replacement programmes as required. To ensure staff induction and annual refresher training maintaining and updating staff records accordingly.
