Job description Job responsibilities The Planned and Surgical Care Directorate is responsible for delivering high quality and effective Medical and Nursing Care to patients within the hospital base, outpatients and community settings. This includes patients within the following specialties which this role is responsible for: Multiple Specialities within the Trust related to surgery Main Theatres Day Surgery Anaesthetics Pain management Critical Care Unit Critical Care Out-Reach Theatre Admissions Pre-Operative Assessment Wharfedale Theatres Main theatre comprises of 5 elective theatres and 1 emergency obstetric theatre, providing high quality care to a range of patients undergoing surgical procedures, operating 24hours 7 days a week covering acute, trauma, elective and obstetric surgery. Day surgery theatres comprises of 3 elective theatres, providing high quality care to adults and children undergoing surgical procedures Monday Saturday. Includes a day ward unit to facilitate day case surgery. Pre-assessment is a team of nurse led practitioners providing high quality pre-operative assessment for patients awaiting surgery. Critical Care comprises of level 3 and level 2 high quality care for patients who require medical and surgical care. The Critical Care outreach team support the organisation and the unit.
