A position has become available for a Paediatric Band 7 vacancy within our department. We are seeking individuals who have the experience and passion to come and lead our amazing team. We are looking for, highly motivated individuals with a passion to provide excellent patient centred care through effective role modelling in a busy Emergency Department supporting junior staff and providing them with skills they need to deliver the service to the Paediatric Patients attending. This post provides the opportunity to learn and develop additional skills alongside the management team and to establish the nursing team so that we can deliver the best care. The Emergency Department can be fast paced, you will be required to support staff in areas such as triage and cubicles to enable flow through the department. The individual will support new initiatives and continuously striving to achieve an outstanding Emergency department. The role will consist of clinical and management time where you will be required to attend meetings review incidents, complaints, audits, review clinical documents/pathways amongst other things. As the lead for Paediatrics, you will encourage staff well-being and support colleagues when required. The department Provides 24-hour care through a variety of shift patterns. The individual will work closely with the team supporting and addressing any escalations. The individual will be expected to lead the department well, to be visible and approachable and to ensure that targets are met day to day. To address any concerns which arise on shift and to escalate when required to the Paediatric Matron The individual will provide support, education and teaching to staff and parents when the opportunity arises. The ability to support staff in all areas within or associated with emergency care. To facilitate opportunities for staff to attend specific training to enhance job role and skills. *Understand own level of responsibility and accountability in relation to role. *Communicate clearly, effectively, and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their family, visitors and carers. *Identify learning and development needs within the department and produce personal development plans when required *Achieve and maintain competence in mandatory and statutory training associated with the role. *Complete documentation of care in line with the Trust Standards for Documentation. *The post-holder must act in such a way as to promote a positive image of UHB Foundation Trust at all times. *Act first and foremost to care for and safeguard the public, practice in a safe, compassionate, and patient centred manner "}
