This post is open to newly qualified psychologists as a Band 7/8a preceptorship, which means you will start on Band 7 and transition to 8a after 12-months depending on your development. The post is also available as an 8a for those with relevant post-qualification experience. The post holder will join a well-established and supportive Early Intervention in Psychosis service for young people aged between 16-35 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis and their families. The Birmingham EIP service is comprised of four EIP teams located in different geographical areas across the city. This post is linked with the North EIP team, which is based in Finch Road Primary Care Centre, Lozells, Birmingham. Each EIP Team supports the symptomatic, social, and personal recovery of young people with psychosis through the offer of NICE concordant care including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for psychosis (CBTp), Family Interventions for psychosis (FIp and Carer Support), and Supported Employment. The post holder will provide specialist psychological assessments, individual therapy, family interventions and group work. They will be expected to work with the multidisciplinary teams and offer consultation on psychological approaches to working with psychosis, as well as teaching and supervising of qualified, assistant and trainee psychologists.
