We are looking for an experienced and fully autonomous Clinical Respiratory Physiologist with a high level of demonstrable technical ability and motivation for supervision / teaching of others. The successful candidate will play a key role in both service delivery and supervision within the pulmonary function lab. The department is well equipped and delivers a full range of investigations including full lung function testing, respiratory muscle assessment, bronchial provocation using Mannitol and EVH, hypoxic challenge testing and sleep studies (oximetry, polygraphy and PSG) and also includes commencing patients on CPAP treatment and ongoing support of sleep apnoea patients. A CPET service is in development The post holder will have a role in helping to further develop the sleep and respiratory physiology services. Experience in paediatric physiology services and NIV would be beneficial but is not essential. The post holder will also be required to supervise, train and assess trainees within the department and those on clinical placements. Ideally you will have several years’ experience working as a Clinical Respiratory Physiologist with significant competence in a lung function laboratory. You should hold a BSc in Respiratory Clinical Physiology, Biological Sciences or an equivalent qualification such as ARTP Part I /Part II. You should be RCCP/AHCS registered or at least eligible and working towards registration. Applications are also welcomed from self-driven individuals with a relevant post-graduate degree or clinical experience to develop the skills through a customised training route to achieve AHCS equivalence in Respiratory Physiology (paid as per annex21).
