We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern is Day/night NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the New Victoria ACH Minor Injury Unit team as a HCSW. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to undertake a wide range of clinical treatments, educational functions and people skills. The post holder will also participate in the general day to day tasks of the Minor Injury Unit that support its operational management, have excellent communication and organisational skills. The post holder will work under the direct/indirect supervision of and in support of the Emergency Nurse Practitioner carrying out delegated nursing and non-nursing duties, to promote patient centred specialist minor injury care. To ensure that all duties required to assist the clinician are completed in a timely manner to ensure the best patient experience possible and in adherence to unscheduled care performance targets. Previous experience of working in a setting undertaking wound management, venepuncture/cannulation and plaster of paris application is desired but not essential. This post is full time (37.5hrs/week) across 7 days; 12hr shifts and at times require covering cross site in the QEUH Minor Injury Unit.
