Band 3 Trainee Healthcare Support worker You will be paid at a Band 2 level, while undertaking educational and clinical competencies to enable you to take on the full range of duties within the Band 3 Job descriptions. Following successful completion of the training program you will progress into the Band 3 pay scale, ideally within 9-12 months of starting. Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker This role is suitable for someone with experience in Health care and or has attained SCQF level 6/7 in a health care related subject. This role encompasses the full duties within the Band 3 Job Description. Super Spotlight on Colorectal Surgery Department, WGH ERAS and Stoma Team We are looking for a motivated and experienced Band 3 Clinical Support Worker to join the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and Stoma Team based in the Colorectal Unit at the Western General Hospital. We are looking to appoint someone with an interest in caring for surgical patients and help provide them with ongoing support before and after bowel surgery. This is an exciting post with a variety of day-to-day tasks. The post holder will be responsible for looking after a case-load of patients who are having surgery for bowel cancer and other bowel or urology conditions. We have a wide variety of patients ranging from emergency admissions to people having planned operations. The role of the Band 3 CSW will include meeting patients and their families before their operation and provide ongoing advice about how to prepare for and recover from their surgery. The post holder will also be involved in the follow-up of patients, especially to support patients with a stoma. The post holder will work with a multi-disciplinary team including a well established stoma and ERAS team and work closely with the current Band 3 CSW. We have a range of vacancies for experienced and newly qualified nurses to join our innovative and dynamic teams across NHS Lothian – providing you with the opportunity to gain a breadth of knowledge and exposure to multiple specialties. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
